Your Right to Data Deletion
Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data held by EV Guardian. Once processed, we will permanently delete your account and all associated personal information from our systems.
What Gets Deleted
Upon a verified deletion request, we will remove:
- Your account credentials (name, email address)
- Vehicle and battery data linked to your account
- Trip history and route records
- Community contributions tied to your identity
- In-app preferences and notification settings
- Any other personally identifiable information we hold
What We May Retain
We may retain the following even after a deletion request, in accordance with legal obligations:
- Anonymized / aggregated data that cannot identify you
- Transaction or billing records required by financial regulations
- Fraud prevention data retained for security purposes
- Legal hold data where required by law or active legal proceedings
How to Submit a Deletion Request
You can request data deletion through any of the following methods:
Via the App
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the EV Guardian app to initiate deletion directly.
Via Email
Email us at privacy@evguardian.in with subject line "Data Deletion Request" and your registered email address.
Processing Time
We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days of verification. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been permanently removed.
Verification
To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This typically involves confirming access to your registered email address.
